It`s time to start dreaming again

We are experiencing times in which most people yearn back to “fatty meals” of circumstances of Egypt like the Israelites in the Bible while wandering in the desert. You will find that this craving for a better life is the underlying tone in the words and conversations of people and seen in their actions. We so often hear:  “Live in the present!”  This is not that easy. The reason that we are so desperately holding onto the past or yearning for a better tomorrow.  In these hard and uncomfortable situations and a dark state of mind, we try to grab onto something in the future that often will never be grasped. It is just here where many of us will get stuck.  It becomes a hobby to sit and stare at the current circumstances or complain while wishing for a better future.

Thus, we live in the future and forget to appreciate and enjoy the journey in the present. Someone once said: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, but today is a gift”. Yes, in some way it sounds a bit “corny”, but somewhere in it we will find some truth.

Due to the present reality, most people are so caught up in a negative state of mind and living situation and that causes a kind of numbness in some and sudden aggression in others. It seems as if they are fighting and floating between the reappearing pieces of wreckage of their perception of their present circumstance. It might feel as if the unexpected and unrelenting perfect storm has struck them. One hears, “What now”, what now? Where to now? Others are fighting with their governments or systems because that is the symbol of their misery and only visible and viable target. But is it?

All of this might possibly be a smokescreen or defense mechanism for something buried much deeper and longer in their unconscious mind. Might it be that the whole scenario of the pandemic did not change people and their behavior, but only unearthed the real character that was hidden behind the walls of better circumstances? Every desperation might only be an attempt to try to swim through the reappearing pieces of life`s wreckages and the stench of death and loss from our past to who knows where. Hopefully, some will realize this and seek help.

What now? How different?

Start to think radically fresh. Make a daily commitment to stop all negative thinking and you will see how new creativity surfaces and will be drawn to you. Start to dream constructively again. What do you see on the horizon of these dark times? Maybe it is time to write down your passions. Write a dream and you’ll start to see it after a while. No, not pies in the sky, real dreams accompanied by smart goals. It must be something you can really do, according to your passions, on your time and from the place where you prefer to do it.

Write or draw about that dream and how it can look like.

Maybe, you really feel like you are drifting between reappearing pieces of wreckage and stench but begin to swim purposefully to solid goals and solid ground.

Remember if you can reach your dream easily and without help, you don’t dream big enough.
